Vodacom Upgrade problems - Call centre promises...

I don't know why this has happened to me again when upgrading on Vodacom. I had a lot of issues 24 months ago when I upgraded my Vodacom contract yet I stuck with it.

I phoned on 5 April 2018 to cancel my contract as Telkom was offering a better deal on an upgrade and wanted to move to them. They were offering a iPhone X of FreeMe2GB deal for R957 and I would get 2Gb data, Free LIT music, Free Telkom WiFi at hotspots, Free sms, whatsapp and instant messages, free calls to Telkom mobile and telkom landline numbers and call charges of 70c per minute.

I spoke to Malehlohonolo Tshabalala at Vodacom call centre (Iwas later told she is in Business Recovery) who promised that Vodacom could match this offer and charge me R924 p.m. (total cost as I remember asking this) on a Smart S with 2GB data p.m. She then proceeded to send me a quote on 5 April 2018 (ref ********** 4) that did not reflect this as the quote was for R1 073.50 and did not include the data she promised me over the phone (she instead was charging me for it).

I phoned her to enquire why this was the case and she informed me that all I need to do is sign the quote and they can proceed to give me the 'deal price' as discussed over the phone. I declined obviously. She then informed me that she will get back to me.

On 11 April 2018 I phoned again as she has not informed me of anything, she then told me that there was an error on the system and they cannot generate any upgrade quotes but that she will keep me informed.

I emailed her on 19 April 2018 to enquire what was going on, she responded via email on 20 April 2018 that apparently because of the 1% VAT rate increase the price has now gone up to R999 (she still has not sent me the quote so that I can see if all the items she promise) - this from R924 (VAT only increased by 1% and now the price went up by R75). She then phoned me and changed the story that it is not the VAT that is causing the issue apparently there is a back end problem with Vodacom's system and she has escalated the query and quote to be amended. She confirmed that Vodacom will honour the deal she promised of R924 p.m.

I don't know what I need to do any more, we are two weeks down the line (going for our third week) and I'm no closer to upgrading or cancelling than I was on 5 April when this all started. I've been a loyal Vodacom customer for more than 15 years (first personal and then my business). Hopefully someone from Vodacom reads this and can tell me what to do.

Reviewer Update
Hi I have now (25 April) heard back from the Vodacom call centre (after they agreed to let me know by close of business on Friday (20 April) that unfortunately Vodacom cannot assist me in the upgrade as they can't/won't match Telkom's deal. Malehlohonolo told me that their system is the problem and they can't fix the system so that she can give me the price she agreed with me over the phone (R924 p.m.). So now after nearly 15 years with Vodacom it seems like I'll have to end my working relationship with them and move to another network. If only they told me this on 5 April when I phoned I would not have to spend 3 weeks to wait for a 'No' answer from them.
