VODACOM UPGRADE INCOMPETENCIES
About 3 weeks ago we did an on-line upgrade and admit to not have read the terms and conditions for 3rd party delivery. I had to wait for the whole upgrade to reset so that I can do it again. I decided to, as per previous upgrades, call the call centre and then have my niece collect the phone at Greenacres in PE and whilst explaining to the agent, William that I would like her to collect the phone at a store he informed me that when calling the call centre, I can request a 3rd party delivery through RAM. I questioned him at least 4 times during the conversation on the info and was more than happy to have my niece collect in-store but he assured me all will be good. He informed me that she needed a letter of consent, a copy of my ID, a copy of her ID as well as the original and proof of address. Which I naturally sent to her immediately so that she have everything ready. Yesterday upon delivery, the driver asked for her documentation which she showed him on her phone, he went to his vehichle to make a call and just left, without informing her why he's leaving. She told him she can print the docs in 2 mins. After a number of calls and frustrating outbursts I was informed that 3rd party delivery is STILL NOT ALLOWED, even with the agent, William confirming more than 4 times that all will be good. So again my time was wasted. After sending a complaint on social media, Thembeka contacted me, I explained the urgency of getting the parcel to my niece and she discussed it with her supervisor. She called me and said they will now deliver to my niece and promised to have it with her by 10:00 as there's overseas travel arrangements and commitments. This morning I called RAM to follow up on where the parcel is (10:08) and spoke to Jason who eventually actually dropped to call in my ear, not making any effort to find out about the said special arrangement Thembeka and her supervisor did last night. Someone from RAM called my niece to now inform her the parcel will be delivered between 12 and 1 as they first had to deliver "parcels which customers paid for"...... So am I not a paying customer. Now, at 11:02 I receive a mail from Buzwe Bonga referring me to the RAM site....... Clearly she did not bother to read any of the mails in the mail trail to see what my issue is or even bothered to phone me to discuss. Well needless to say, my niece now does not have a phone, the one she have has a cracked screen, hence the need to upgrade, but I will no longer upgrade with Vodacom, in fact I will be cancelling all my contracts with them as the service I'm currently getting is totally unacceptable. Good bye Vodacom!!!!
