Vodacom upgrade headache

What was meant to be seamless upgrade has turned into a nightmare. On the 3rd of June 2025, I went onto the Vodacom site to upgrade my Vodacom contract, chose the phone and package that I wanted and clicked upgrade. I got an sms to confirm my upgrade, a few minutes later a Vodacom representative called to say I signed up for a new contract and didn’t upgrade. We had a back and forth, I explained to her that I had received an sms confirming my upgrade, she explained to that on her side, it appeared as a new contract but she said she will rectify it immediately. We did the whole verification process, security questions for the upgrade after she said she will cancel the new contract. We finished the process of doing the upgrade and she assures me that all is well, I have upgraded and new contract is cancelled. Today (11 June 2025) I received my package, I got home, opened the box to find that I have two sim cards instead of one, I called the after sales department to enquire as to why I have two instead of one, as I only need one new sim card because it’s a double phone deal but I know that in the past when I upgraded, I didn’t get a new sim card , she them told me that it’s for my new contract and I explained to her that this was meant to be an upgrade and not a new contract, she checks on the system it appears that the lady who promised to fix the issues of the new contract on the 3rd of June, cancelled the upgrade and proceeded with the new contract, at whose approval, when we ended the call, we concluded my upgrade not new contract. Vodacom please come get your phones, I don’t want them. I have upgraded online ever since I had a Vodacom contract (on and off) this is my worst experience with Vodacom. Arranging delivery was another nightmare, I called twice (around 10am and again around midday) on Friday (6 June) begging Vodacom after sales consultants to communicate with courier company that I don’t work on Monday, you can listen to the recorded calls. Guess who arrived Monday at the office? Now I had to argue courier company representative telephonically, he had not been told that I don’t work on Monday, another own goal Vodacom. I can list so many other things that went wrong with this upgrade but I have a migraine now.
