Vodacom Upgrade Error – Unauthorised Migration Fee Despite Acknowledged Fault

Vodacom Upgrade Error – Unauthorised Migration Fee Despite Acknowledged Fault In June/July 2025, I upgraded my handset through Vodacom Upgrades. I was informed that my existing Smart M package was discontinued and that I would be moved to a new package. I explicitly confirmed three times that the new package would be like‑for‑like with no loss of benefits. The agent confirmed this each time. In December 2025, I realised the package was not equivalent, as I ran out of airtime for the first time ever. Vodacom later confirmed there was an issue and that it needed to be corrected by Upgrades, as the error was not my fault. After multiple escalations between January and March 2026, a Vodacom representative finally acknowledged that the incorrect package was due to Vodacom agent error and confirmed (on a recorded call) that the correction would be done without any migration or admin fee. I received an initial quote and then a corrected quote with the migration fee removed. Despite this, my latest Vodacom invoice still includes a R450 migration fee (excl. VAT). I did not request a migration — this was a corrective action due to Vodacom misrepresentation. I dispute the charge and request:

Immediate reversal of the migration fee Written confirmation of a like‑for‑like package correction

Vodacom has had over three months to resolve this matter, and I am now being billed incorrectly despite assurances and recorded proof.
