Vodacom upgrade always ends up a nightmare
Dear Vodacom Due to continuous struggles when it comes to delivery of upgrades by your industry partner RAM, I have decided to cancel the contract I have had with Vodacom for the last number of years due to the *********** manner in which my upgrade was yet again conducted. Only upon the first attempt to deliver my cell phone was I informed that only my i.d would be accepted, not my drivers license. We rescheduled the delivery to today, and I went home last night in search of my i.d, only to come to the realization that I must have lost it. This morning I made various attempts to contact RAM, and had to resort to dealing with an uneducated online assistant who was no help in resolving the issue at hand. After making a formal complaint, RAM insisted they are unable to assist me if I cannot present my original i.d upon delivery. Obviously I have no other choice than to apply for a new i.d as it is a legal requirement, however where this leaves me with the upgrade is that I would then have to wait weeks (best case scenario) before I can receive the upgrade, as this is the only acceptable proof of identification which you allow RAM to accept. I phoned Vodacom to inform them of the situation, and by that time I had already been so infuriated by the absolute lack of competence displayed by RAM. I asked Vodacom to cancel the upgrade, and then cancel my contract altogether, as I am not willing to always struggle like this when it comes to upgrading with a network (in the past, RAM has also failed to deliver as they still had an old address on their system, they had the wrong contact number on their system and still do to this very day, despite this information having been kept updated with Vodacom throughout the last few years – every single upgrade is a struggle) So Vodacom, please cancel my contract. I am aware that this can only be done once the undelivered cell phone has been returned to Vodacom, and I also expect a response to first inform me of the financial implications of cancelling my contract immediately as opposed to cancelling at the end of my contract term. Either way, I feel that my loyalty has been overseen and disregarded, and in all honesty I have never had the same issues with the contracts from your opposition which I have taken out for my family members, therefore I am ready to move on to greener pastures. I am also intending on cancelling my second contract with Vodacom once that terms comes to an end. I await your call to discuss the implications of immediate cancellation versus end of contract term, as I am eager to move to another network and receive a new handset and much better rates and lower costs.
