Vodacom up to its old tricks again!

I recently changed my existing contract with Vodacom to a Prepaid contract that was more affordable. I went to the Nicolway branch where a consultant put me on the phone with the Contracts Department. A very helpful consultant recommended a R79 per month deal, whereby I would receive 1 GB of Data, 110 talk minutes and free Caller ID. I confirmed twice that the Caller ID was free and that I would not ever be charged more than R79 per month. I also confirmed that the only way more money could be charged on my new Prepaid contract was only if I chose to top it up before month end. All of this was confirmed, so I took the deal. I received several SMS messages informing me of my new "upgrade", including one confirming that Caller ID was free. The next month, I was charged R80 for my contract. I did not think much of it, as it was only R1 more than the original price quoted to me, so I didn't report it. However, the next month, I was charged R89. Now my contract is R10 more than I was quoted. When I contacted Vodacom Customer Care on the 10th of May, I spoke to Ntombi who informed me that I was actually paying for the Caller ID that is supposed to be free, and so she put me through to the Contracts Department. In doing so, I got bombarded with voice prompts requiring me to rate the service, and after each rating, I would hear a gentleman speaking loudly and abrasively in another language. I ended up having to terminate the call and re-phoning to get through to an operator in the Contracts Department. I got through to Nomthandazo, who seemed rather disgruntled that I had dared to ask what her name was so I could have on record who I was speaking to, and after hearing my predicament of being charged for something I was told was free, she said she would contact the person who upgraded my contract and have them contact me to rectify the situation. Nobody has contacted me as promised, and I still sit being overcharged and with no solution in sight. Effectively, in selling me a product at a certain price with a promise that specific services were free, and then charging me for them after the fact, Vodacom is acting *******ly. If I am not reimbursed for the overcharged amount and my free benefits are not correctly reinstated so that I am charged the correct amount of R79 per month, I will report this matter to the appropriate regulatory authority. This is absolutely unacceptable....although hardly surprising.
