Vodacom unwilling to help customer

My dad took his phone to Vodacom because it didn't want to switch on. Mind you it was still within warranty. The Vodacom shop at tygervalley came back with an analysis that there were many things wrong with the phone but in truth the phone just stopped working it had a protective cover and nothing was wrong with the phone besides that it just didn't want to switch on anymore. This is cause the motherboard crashed. So they came with a list of malfunctions done by there technical team and even said the LCD was cracked and it was human errror. The LCD screen was not cracked and the phone never fell. So basically they refused to fix the phone that was still in warranty and said it fell and was a human error and quotes a ridiculous amount to fix the phone. Apparently the warranty on the phone is only for software yet nowhere does it state that. So they were unwilling to assist and my dad is a new customer and pays his account on time every month. He then went to canalwalk branch who were even more unwilling to help and said the same thing, when the canalwalk branch called the tygervalley branch for a print out of there findings they refused to do so and said what they were saying is sufficient enough. I am truly disgusted by Vodacom customer service who are eager to take my dad's money but are unwilling to help there customers when they are really not at fault here. It seems there technical team makes up these outrageous analysis only to furthermore blame the customer and dishonour the terms that are clearly stated within the Vodacom contract. You are more interested in money than actually being of service to your customers its appalling.
