Vodacom unwilling to assist with Pathetic Customer service all the way to Management.
On the 30 June 2024, I realized that my "Smart" phone was no longer working. I log onto my Vodacom App only to find all my Data (10GB+) missing. I then contact customer care to resolve only to be told that it had expired. So I asked how does that make sense that my contract data is expired but my phone is still under contract as the contract expires in 2 months. I then explained that my contract is a custom contract as I have been a Client of Vodacom with the same number from 1998 and was at 1 point a VIP customer for a good few years. I was then put through to the retentions/upgrade department as it seemed the only resolution was to perform an early upgrade and get back what I should have had. Any "Smart " phone with no data is an absolutely pointless device. I explained the urgency as this has directly impacted my work life as I have several meetings on the go via Microsoft Teams on my mobile. The person assisting then chatted to his Manager and made a custom package to retain me and match/better what I have/had. I was ensured that all will be fine and my data will be back. 2 Days later and God knows how many reboots; still no data. I contact customer care again explaining how irate I currently am and get told that I need to wait until the end of July and my data will be back on the 1 of August. So I am still paying the full contract price and now have to buy my own data for an entire month and wait till August. What BS is that as i was assured everything was sorted as of immediate effect. I was then handed over several times to other departments to assist and the call kept cutting as they hand me over. I had to constantly call back and go through that annoying voice prompts and keep explaining what the situation is from scratch to each new person. I eventually asked to be put through to a manager. Once that was done that manageress had no interest in trying to help or understand what I had explained and handed me over to retentions. Keep in mind though all of this I have explain the story over and over to each person. I still received no help and called back. I was then put through to a senior assistant who said he sees the problem and will chat to his manager and get me sorted for the month of July so that I can work and will call me back in the morning. I asked him several times if he will as i have been promised call backs by others in Vodacom that never occurred. The next day had come and went and zero call backs. Now I had to start the entire process again of calling back and explaining the situation to each person to get some kind of help. Vodacom then blocked me from calling customer care.....who knew that was actually a thing. I was blocked for calling too often which in itself shows how many times I called trying to get help. I then had to call back via the pay for number and sat for more than 30 minutes on a call with Vodacom, still being handed around and not a single person saying " let me call you back Sir". I then said that they will reimburse my airtime as well as my data that they took away. No 1 seemed to give as **** about my issues and actually assisting me. It is now the 23 of July 2024 and I have still not being helped. I have never received such PATHETIC and **** service in all my and cannot explain how disappointed I am that a simple F up by Vodacom cannot be resolved and that the customer means absolutely nothing to them. I understand that I am 1 person and my business probably means nothing and does the standards of customer care a=have fallen or non existent in Vodacom's case. I have no idea who else to reach out too for help. I should cancel this contract and get my legal team involved and move over to a service provider who actually cares and where after sales matters.
I would like a Manager to kindly contact me and not customer care as I have lost all faith in the service provided by Vodacom.
Kind Regards
Rajen

@Vodacom I think maybe remove your automated reply from Hello Peter as it also a lot of BS.
Next step now is to cancel with Vodacom after being a loyal customer from 1998

I received a call from a gentleman today who assisted and took the time to understand my frustration over the month of July and how simply it could have been resolved. I only wish I got into contact with the likes of him whilst trying to receive assistance.
Thank you for the assistance and more especially understanding every my experience was like.
Please ensure that employees the like of him are given the recognition for their service excellence.
