Vodacom unresolved dispute despite escalation to ICASA and NCC

I have been attempting to resolve a long-standing issue with Vodacom relating to failed upgrades, billing discrepancies, and account handling linked to their “legacy system”.

Key points:

* Since 2022, I have repeatedly attempted to upgrade and manage my contract but was advised this could not be done due to internal system limitations. * Despite this, I continued to be billed at elevated rates, while being denied normal service functionality. * Multiple service requests and escalation attempts were made over several years without resolution. * The matter was escalated to Vodacom’s Executive Office and Legal Department – still with no outcome.

In February 2026, I formally escalated the matter:

* To ICASA (telecom regulator) * To the National Consumer Commission (CPA)

Current situation:

* Vodacom has not provided any substantive response or settlement proposal * The only feedback remains that the matter is “with Legal” * ICASA has engaged Vodacom, but no progress or outcome has been communicated * The NCC has escalated the matter internally

At this stage, despite regulatory involvement and formal escalation, the matter remains unresolved.

I am still open to resolving this commercially and without further escalation, but the lack of engagement is concerning given the duration and extent of the issue.

Would appreciate Vodacom providing a clear and final position.
