Vodacom unfairly Favours Samsung over Apple Wearables with eSim OneNumber Service

Vodacom issued a Press Releases in March 2019 advising they have introduced eSim Support via their OneNumber service. The 12 March 2019 press release advised eSims would initially only be available for Samsung Watches, with support for other wearables & eSim enabled devices coming soon. They have subsequently rolled out this service for other eSim enabled devices, including the latest Apple iPhones. Based on this knowledge this technology was available from Vodacom I recently purchased a 'Cellular enabled' Apple Watch 5 whilst on holiday in Australia. On my return I contacted Vodacom & requested they activate my eSim in my Apple Watch. I was given an email address to mail this request to, which I did. 4 days later (last Friday) I received mails & SMS's from Vodacom advising me this service had been activated. After I spent the weekend trying to activate the eSim on my Apple Watch without success, I mailed Vodacom asking for assistance. At this point I was advised that Vodacom's eSims do not work with Apple Watches (after being charged R98 activation & R25 monthly VAS).

I have two problems with this.

Firstly I should have been advised that the eSim would not work on my Apple Watch before they actually activated this service.

Secondly, I have a big issue with the fact that Vodacom appears to be favouring Samsung wearables over Apple wearables with the roll out of this technology. In doing so Vodacom is effectively promoting the Samsung brand, whilst at the same time prejudicing the Apple brand. Surely a large listed company like Vodacom should not be exhibiting obvious favouritism to one phone/wearable manufacturer (Samsung) at the blatant expense of their biggest rival (Apple).

Surely if the technology has worked with Samsung wearables for more than the past 10 months, it should be made available to Apple (& other brands) wearables?

Please can someone at Vodacom that knows what is happening with their OneNumber eSim wearables advise when Vodacom will stop favouring Samsung & allow me to activate this service on my Apple Watch.
