Vodacom unauthorised charges

Account Number:I ********** -8
Service provider :Vodacom

During May 2016 I started receiving invoices far in excess of my usual monthly account.

On further enquiry to Vodacom it transpired that certain services in respect of data updates was activated on the account. The specific term used is one of "updating whatsapp".

According to the records from Vodacom this service was activated on 25 March 2016 and during the evening.

What I do confirm is that on 25 March 2016 I terminated a separate data contract held with Vodacom.

My usual monthly contract amount amounts to approximately R 600.00 per month.

In May 2016 my monthly invoice was rendered in the amount of R 954.34. of which R 434.26 was used in respect of this unauthorised data services.

In June 2016 an invoice was rendered in the amount of R 943.90 of which R 363.93 was used in respect of this unauthorised data services.

On 8 June 2016 I telephonically contacted Vodacom who assisted me in cancelling such a service. On enquiry in respect of the unauthorised charges, Vodacom refused to reimburse me for those charges.

I confirm that I never authorised such increase in data usage and or services. The termination of the separate data contract was done specifically with the object of reducing my monthly telecommunications costs and I would never have authorised such charges.

I kindly request that the complaint be investigated in order for the unauthorised charges be credited to my account alternatively the repayment of same.

I am quite willing to assist in any such enquiry and will grant the necessary assistance to bring the matter to finality.

Trusting that you will find the above in order and awaiting your reply in due course.

Yours faithfully.
