Vodacom unable to assist with ********** account
In March of this year two debits were processed on my account from Vodacom for around R400. I immediately contacted my bank and got these reversed as I am not a Vodacom customer. I called Vodacom to find out what was happening and how I could stop the debits from going through. I was informed that there was an account in my name which had been opened in January. I asked the Vodacom agent to please close the account and stop all service on it. The Vodacom agent informed me I would need to submit an affidavit at a Vodacom shop, after that an investigation would happen and the matter would be sorted out. The next day I went to the Vodacom shop in Bedford Centre and submitted the documentation, which was sent to the ***** investigations team at Vodacom. This was on 12 March 2018. I heard nothing back from Vodacom until early May, when I started getting daily phone calls from a Vodacom call centre asking me to settle the account. I have explained to every call centre agent what is happening and have forwarded the email that was sent to the ***** investigations team with all the relevant information. In spite of this I am still being harassed by Vodacom to pay for an account that is not mine. I have done what they asked to resolve this, but they do not seem to be able to sort it out on their end.
