Vodacom *****ulently Open up a contract, repercussions thereof and inefficiencies relating to call centre
I have had a R100 contract with Vodacom, ended at end of April. They offered me an upgrade a few months prior to the contact ending which I declined - in writing, per e-mail, to their upgrade e-mail address. The upgrade issue was the source of my previous hellopeter review which was supposed to have been resolved - all agreed upon telephonically but NOTHING in writing, it obviously was not resolved. My very next invoice was increased with the cost of the upgrade - even though I had rejected it in writing and all of this was supposedly resolved. This was reversed after I had contacted them (the excuse given was that it was loaded in error as they got "confused with a similar name" Really?? This is laughable) -but not before my debit order was charged the upgrade amount ..so i cancelled the debit order. I then contacted vodacom and informed them of this and that they need to correct the invoice and e-mail me the balance outstanding (2 months @ -R100 = R200). Unfortunately Vodacom are saying I owe either R215 or R290, rounded off (depends on which day I contact them as this changes all the time). This has been going on for about 3 months -I have made multiple calls to Vodacom (approx 10) , Over the phone I have clearly stated that I agree to pay the outstanding R200 with no issues-all i want is an updated statement reflecting the R200 owing plus their banking details and I will pay immediately, Unfortunately, I say cynically but honestly, NO ONE at Vodacom can resolve this...I have had it escalated to a manger and they simple cut me off... now I have debt collection agency harassing my wife (not me, even though Vodacom have all my details, including my e-mail address and cell number they have even phoned me back at times)...on Tuesday I spent 1 hour on the phone to different people on the calls centre/collections to resolve this- no luck. In short- they loaded a contract *****ulently, without my permission..I repeat for Vodacom sake *****ULENTLY (I wonder what action was taken with this??)... I declined the debt order which was the value of the *****ulent contract, I have agreed to pay the remaining 2 months of the previous contract, no problem, but instead of resolving their own error Vodacom have handed me over to a debt collection agency. This is a low rand value issue but the principal remains the same no matter the rand value...don't bully the consumer and make them feel like they are the ******** when the error belongs to you..in this case *****. Just a note on this--there is no way to put this all into writing to vodacom...e-mails to the the customer care comes back with a virtual assist which is so FRUSTRATING....in my situation I say, once again cynically bit an honest opinion, why do they hide behind an ineffective call centre/collections where nothing is recorded on their system--it is all word of mouth and for one to put forward a case over the phone is impossible. The only time I have had a decent response to an issue (not necessarily a resolution as per my previous review) is when I place a complaint on hellopeter.. it seems hellopeter is their go to when it comes to things in writing....Vodacom--I await your call to resolve this
