Vodacom *****ulent ****: overcharging data contracts.

I've spent years being a vodacom prepaid customer with no issue. Now that I'm a contract customer, it's like they are doing everything in their power to make me vow against then as a provider. The issue started when I updated my data contract in late March 2024, with the update effective 1 April 2024. The price I agreed to pay, as per the signed contract, is R399. On the 1st of April I check my invoice for the month, and suddenly I owe an amount of R459. I went back to the store the next day to query the price and they tell me to come back after the 15th if the amount has not changed. Lo and behold, it's after the 15th and the invoice amount has not changed. I go back to the store, they log a query for me and tell me to come back again after 48hours. During this 48 hour period, I now get an email telling me that I will be subject to an annual increase of 8% come June 1st 2024. This is shocking as I have another email from earlier during the year telling about an annual increase that was effective April 1st 2024. Unless the word annual has been redefined within the last year, clearly there's now an issue. I think Vodacom is running a **** where they charge people extra on their contract amounts, thinking that we will just ignore it as it's a relatively small amount. They also have a **** of implementing "annual" price increases twice a year, which is not part of the signed contract agreement.

Reviewer Update
Update. No consultant ever got in touch. I had to go back in store and eventually was told to contact the accounts department. I spoke with a lady called Mbali Ntshali who told me that the difference between my signed contract amount and the invoice was due to VAT. I pointed out that my contract clearly states that the R399 is inclusive of VAT. Her response was that the sales person who assisted me with the upgrade was suppose to tell me that the amount excluded VAT, regardless if what the contract said.
