Vodacom *****ulent Contract & Service Failure
I took out a 24‑month 100GB SIM contract with Vodacom in February 2023. • The agent *****ulently signed me up for a 36‑month contract instead of the 24 months I agreed to. • In 2025, when I tried to cancel at the end of my requested contract, Vodacom told me I still had another year left. I asked for the call transcript and was promised either the recording or the chance to listen to it in‑store. Despite multiple follow‑ups, this has never happened. • I continued with the contract, which should end in 2026. However, Vodacom has now disconnected my service, leaving me paying R317 every month for nothing. • At the Gardens store in Cape Town, I was told to pay for a SIM swap. It failed. When I returned in October 2025, I was told to pay again. Still failed. In December, another staff member falsely claimed the SIM “does not work in a pocket router” and must be used in a home router. • I have called Vodacom repeatedly, but their staff provide no help, no solutions, and no clear direction. Yet, the debit orders continue every month without fail. • My contract is due to end in February 2026, but given Vodacom’s carelessness, finger‑pointing, and lack of accountability, I expect further problems. • I submitted my intention to terminate the contract, but the call center agent refused to log it, insisting I should only call in the month the contract ends—even though Vodacom’s own website states customers must give at least 60 days’ notice. Vodacom is abusing its power, knowing customers cannot afford to take them to court. Instead, they play games with us. The staff member who *****ulently signed me up for the incorrect contract is L. Govender (A NAME STAFF IN THE bayside branch parklands GAVE FREELY). ⚠️ Avoid Vodacom contracts. They are dishonest, greedy, and provide terrible customer service.
