Vodacom two weeks, spent more than 5 hours on the phone and in store - still not resolved....
My phone’s screen stopped working on Sunday, 28 November 2021. I went to Vodacom to apply for a new contract. I enquired at the Vodacom shop and I wanted a Samsung A52. There were no stock available and they said that they might receive stock later the week, they will phone me the next day to confirm. They had to contact me on my daughter’s number as I could not receive or make calls from my broken phone. No one phoned so I went back to the shop to enquire. I spoke to a different sales consultant and she said that they might receive stock but cannot guarantee it. On Thursday, 2 December I had not heard from them, so I decided to try and do the contract online. I started the online process but there was a system problem, and I received a message that someone will phone me to complete the process. I received a phone call from a sales consultant who was very helpful and knowledgeable. He also said that there were no stock for the Samsung A52 and he convinced me to take the Samsung S20FE, so I agreed, and we completed the process. Later the same afternoon, the Vodacom shop phoned and confirmed that they received stock and a Samsung A52S is available. On 3 December 2021 I went to the shop and ask them to assist to cancel the online contract. They said that they can’t cancel it from their side and I must phone to cancel. I phoned to cancel and the consultant said it will take 72 hours for the cancellation, he confirmed that he will put the cancellation through. On Sunday, 5 December 2021 the Vodacom shop confirmed that the cancellation went through and on Monday, 6 December I went to the Vodacom shop to complete the new contract process. I received my new phone (Samsung A52S), they said that my sim card should be active by 18h00. At 18h00 my sim card was not active (not registered on network). I thought maybe it will be working the next morning. On Monday, 6 December 2021 at 14h01 I received a sms that the order is packed and ready to be sent. I sent an email to the email address that was supp**** in the sms: I phoned again at 14h57 – the consultant told me if the parcel arrive I should not accept it and send it back. Tuesday, 7 December 2021 my sim card was still not working. The sales consultant, from the Vodacom Shop phoned me and informed me that the sim card will not work because the cancellation did not go through. So I phoned again at 09h24 and this time I did not receive friendly service at all from the online service consultant. I was put through from the online service line to customer service and then to after sales. I was told that my sim card would be active in 72 hours’ time. So I waited patiently for the 72 hours to go by, today it is still not working. It has been two weeks since I started the process, I am without a phone and very disappointed and frustrated. I spent more than two hours on phone calls and almost 3hours in the Vodacom shop to try and resolve this and my problem is still not sorted out.
No one contacted me yet. I am still not registered on the network.
