Vodacom twin-sim fiasco
Here we go again with Vodacom poor capacity - poor service- lack of knowledge and immunity against its clients I have had a twin-sim for approximately 10 years of more and it ws working fine until late May when I lost the simcard and needed to replace it. Went to Vodacom shop village Mall and acquired a new sim but I could not connect with the new sim - so back to the Vodacom shop to be told that Vodacom don't do twin-sims any more = 1st waste of time. Ok so I contacted Vodacom business and spoke to a Lerato who told me to send a letter on my business letterhead to Vodacom to activate the simcard = 2nd waste of time Received a response back from a "Thabo" to the effect that they don do twin-sims any more. So they just cancel your twin sim without even notifying you and without even thinking about the consequences for you as customer. In my case the twin sim was in my backup phone in case my main phone battery was depleted as can be the case when working in the bush as I do. So now I either have to keep taking my sim card out of my main phone to swap to my backup phone (with all associated ramifications with WApp - facebook and the like) OR purchase another sim card with a totally different number and keep it topped up. It is evident that Vodacom have firstly a big lack of capacity and knowledge at the customer -base level - and secondly don't give an iota for their customers - a typeset for a monopoly company- truly pathetic, uncaring , no capacity - and at a big price
