Vodacom Tricks
On a Saturday morning in September, I suddenly found my cell will only allow emergency calls. Did some checks and as I knew my Vodacom account was up to date,, the problem must be the cell itself. On the Sunday I took it to Vodacom in Mall @ Redds, Centurion. These guys battled for an hour to find the problem and eventually came up with it. My cell was black listed or grey listed. They then gave me a form to submit - without an address anything - and with the words "it takes 3-6 months to fix". I then got hold of the Vodacom client service and quickly realized this was a no go. Totally clueless and almost non understandable. Trying a few other numbers with no luck I decided to post my problem on Hellopeter, and walla .. reaction within a day from Vodacom. The Vodacom rep then told me that it will be sorted asap and send me a new form to complete and submit. This I did and surely, within a day Vodacom reply as follows" Cell was blocked by Telkom and we can do nothing further". Telkom. I mean, they are the kings of pathetic, although up to now my opinion is that Vodacom is fighting hard for this title. Tried in any case to get somebody at Telkom to help, but as to no surprise...no luck. Bottom line is: My cell, which I bought cash from Vodacom, is non operative but I must still keep up my contract with Vodacom. Sounds a bit lob sided ? More like blatant disregard and money grabbing from Vodacom. At this point my personal adviceand opinion to the public is, stay away from Vodacom as you will get *****ed some or other time. Rather connect to a service from Nigeria - you will be much better of.
