Vodacom Transfer Of Ownership - impossible

I am soooooo frustrated with vodacom:

My contract was taken out by my father when I was still under age, now that I am working I would like to transfer the ownership to my name. One would think that this is do-able, but it turns out to be near impossible. During my previous upgrade in Aug 2017 I asked for a transfer of ownership at the Walmer Park branch in Port Elizabeth. I was informed that I have to upgrade first before the transfer of ownership can be done. So I upgraded and filled in and submitted all the required documentation for the transfer of ownership. I was informed that I needed to wait 30 days before they can do the transfer of ownership. 30 days went passed and I inquired if the transfer was done, the sales consultant confirmed that it was done. Month later the debit order is still being deducted from my father's account. Inquired again, no it's in my name but the debit order wasn't changed and I have to phone the accounts department so that they can fix it. My father then convinced me to leave it untill the next upgrade.

So two years later I go to the Baywest branch this time because I thought it was due to incompetence that they were not able to assist me. So same drill have to upgrade first and wait 30 days. Oh I cannot upgrade because it is not in my name, its still in my father's name. So get a signed letter from my fater that I can do the upgrade. Upgrade done, waited 30 days. Sales consultant told me that the transfer went through and that it will go off from my account next month. Month passed still being deducted from my fathers account, phoned the sales consultant. So she tells me that she doesn't know whats going on but she will inquire. So after a lot of back and forth she informs me that she sorted it out. A month later and it is still being deducted from my father's account. Phone her again, she will inquire again. Informs me no my credit check failed. I ask why did it fail, she can't tell me.

I have a good credit record; I have a home loan, car loan, credit card and Telkom account which has been paid on time since the very first deductions.

Now I am stuck, I cannot cancel the contract, because there will be penalties. Seems like Vodacom are sharks, as long as they have a way of getting their money they don't care about customer satisfaction.

I am severly irritated with Vodacom. I don't think I will make the same mistake of upgrading again when this contract expires, I (my father) will close my contract and go to one of Vodacom's competitors. Maybe they will provide better service to their clients.

Are there anyone who had the same problem? If so can you please tell me what you did to. Resolve the issue.

Regards
