Vodacom Towers lack of maintenance

I have a complaint to lodge about Vodacom regarding the non-maintenance of their towers. I live at Spot 5, Chris Hani Avenue in Kanyamazane, Mbombela City Municipal district, Mpumalanga. I have a small Internet café business which is dependent on access to the Internet and I am having a great deal of trouble with connecting to the Internet. I am losing income and clients because of slowness and totally off at times. From where I stay, I can see at least seven Vodacom towers and of these seven only two are working. I know the others are not working because at night they have a red light at the top which one can see clearly when it is dark. The connection to the Internet was very good up until about middle 2021 but then one of the towers closest to me and in line of my sight has stopped working as it has no light anymore. The signal for Internet has slowly been getting worse and worse and now it has a lot of downtime. It was down the whole of Thursday and Saturday so I have lost two days of income this week, I have tried several networks e.g., Telkom, Cell C, MTN and Rain and all of them are pathetic because of the towers and I have lost data and money due to not being able to access the Internet for my customers. There are days that it is down the whole day. I know we have had a lot of rain and have had cloudy days but this is unacceptable to blame nature when it is their duty to maintain and service their towers, the signal does not always disappear when it is overcast or raining, I know because I have been using the Internet for a very long time and it is only lately that these problems have arisen. We do not have any fibre in this area so that is not an option for us, we have to depend on normal data via towers, and also it is rather expensive for a small business in any case. I got an IT person in to check my setups and I can assure you it is on their side not mine as all my devices work properly, router, laptop etc. so they cannot blame my ignorance. My router, when connected shows data processing but I cannot access the Internet as it will not open at all. A lot of people that I know are complaining, even regarding cell connectivity and many consider not supporting Vodacom anymore due to their indifference to problems. Their data deals are expensive and we use alternative options so it may be a case of jealousy as their products are not so popular anymore, just my opinion. I did post on one of their Facebook posts but their advice was not worth having so now I am resorting to reporting them on Hello Peter to try and get satisfaction. Due to the Covid 19 businesses have been under pressure and they deserve now to be assisted in order to recover. My business is important to me as it provides me with an extra income to supplement my pension which is not sufficient to be able to enjoy my life. It is very frustrating when one is not able to work and have to turn away clients because of Vodacom`s incompetence as well as the loss of income to a small business. I would appreciate any help from you to address this problem and look forward to a positive outcome. Yours sincerely M T Ndlovu Cell: *** Email: ***
