Vodacom took my airtime a day before new contract

I upgraded to the following package: 200min and 650mb without taking new phone. It was supposed to start on the 1st of August. I still had about R350 on my phone that I needed to make phonecalls with that evening. On the 31st of July, Vodacom took the whole amount off my phone and not even added the 200 min from the new contract. I had no airtime the whole day. How can Vodacom take all my airtime a day before new contract starts or even before new contract's minutes are added.

My son in law upgraded to exactly the same package at the same Vodacom shop. On the 31st, he got 330mb. Today, on the 1st of August he got his 200min (and Vodacom didnt even take the minutes on his phone that was left from the previous month, they added to it) and he got his data (plus 10gb on the 1st of August) So why did Ioose my airtime on my phone and why did Vodacom take it a day before they were suppose to and left me without airtime or minutes for a day? I am very dissappointed. The guy at the Vodacom couldnt give an answer. Just said sometimes it works like that.

I would really like to cancel this new contract if I dont get a reasonable answer, because this was not what I agreed to.
