vodacom - too big to care.

I was informed i was due for "upgrade". The link sent me to vodacom online. The website appeared broken. I was looking to pre order galaxy s23 ultra. i gave up. went back week or two later, and found some packages. placed order. someone called me. i told them i wanted to keep same contract type, was told needs to change but it will be very similar. i was not offered or told about any promotions - was told that as this was a pre order, i may have to wait for up to 2 weeks before receiving my handset. phone arrived within a week. i was not told about any current promotions - turns out that i could have got a galaxy tablet, or galaxy watch 5 at heavily reduced price... and because i didn't take those options i dont qualify for the ear buds. on top of that i ran out of data and airtime - something that has not happened to me for 10 years. couldn't get more. after maybe 20 phone calls being passed around from pillar to post i'm still not sorted out. i'm on some new contract plan - still none of the promo offers and i'm very disappointed and upset - after pre ordering a R30k phone i'm punished.

Dear Vodacom

This may be correct, however, your website was completely broken at the time. in fact, the site kept offering me deals "tailored for me" which made absolutely no sense based on previous 10 years of ordering. There was no direct order option on the site, before you could even see the deals and options available, I had to fill out a form, and when complete it shut me out stating an agent would call me. When they did, they asked what deal I wanted, which was bizarre, as i'd not had any option to look at what was available. At this point the agent started telling me options, and I went with one of the options given. once again, no agent pointing out any deals, specials, addons... this is what i'm disappointed at.

no matter, i dont expect vodacom to assume any responsibility, or to do anything to garner goodwill. why would you. one customer is completely irrelevant and makes zero difference whether i'm unhappy or not, or whether i leave or not, which of course i'm doing at the end of this contract. New customers get far better deals than contract customers at all the networks, so this will be a good move, and maybe in ten years when i'm cycling back, i'll get the new customer treatment with vodacom again.
