Vodacom THEY CAN TAKE YOUR WHOLE SALARY with only the notification of a SPAM SMS.

What is the point of a contract if one party can change it as it suits them?

APPARENTLY all Vodacom customers have been stupid enough to sign a contract which was most definitely never shown to anyone. A copy of this contract is only available on their website with no customer signature next to it. How is this legal? It is nowhere visible on the contract signed in store nor is it verbally communicated.

According to this contract (http://www.vodacom.co.za/vodacom/terms/contract-terms-and-conditions) number 5.8. The charges levied by Vodacom may vary from time to time and Vodacom shall provide you with at least 20 (twenty) business days’ notice of such variations before they take effect. You shall be bound to pay such varied charges with effect from the date of publication thereof by either Vodacom and/or Vodacom Group unless you exercise your right of termination as provided for in this Agreement.

On inquiry of the sudden increase, the response is that the increase is accompanied with an extra 150MB data. Who asked for that? Who signed for that? I can top up if I want.

Log a complaint and receive a reply as a multimedia SMS and another SMS stating that the complaint has been resolved - HOW IS THIS RESOLVED?

It seems that Vodacom cannot BUDGET and then charge their customers for their failure thereof. I, as a customer do have a budget and therefore purposefully chose a package that suits my budget. Vodacom has no right to increase it and give me extra data as compensation. An increase of 16.67%!!!!!! As if the 1% VAT increase on EVERYTHING we buy is not enough. My salary did not increase!!!

I am paying for a metaphorically speaking Tazz and don't suddenly want to be charged for a Porsche. We can all wake up one day and then Vodacom can take your whole salary, because they can change your package amount to ANYTHING they WANT and all they have to do is send a spam SMS to notify you.

THIS MUST BE ******* to a consumer's rights. ***Vodacom - please don't post another of your mass replies as a reply to this complaint - it is not consoling anyone.
