Vodacom - the worst mobile provider in South Africa
I am the victim of *****. Someone has opened an account with Vodacom without my knowledge. I first became aware of this when my FNB bank account was debited for R589. I immediately queries this with FNB. They reversed the debit order but charged me R40 to do so. They advised that they will keep honouring any debit order requests until Vodacom desists from sending them and that I must lodge a ***** dispute with Vodacom. I contacted Vodacom and was informed of the procedure - send an email with an affidavit disputing the charge, a bank statement showing the charge on my account, a certified ID copy and 3 specimen signatures. I immediately lodged the dispute via the supp**** email address with all the required documents. I received an automated reply which includes a reference number and a note that an investigation would be launched and feedback would be received in 14 workings day. This was on 15 January 2021. I have had no further response from Vodacom despite following up on the provided email address on 20 January 2021, 25 January 2021, 2 February 2021 and 13 February 2021. I have called Vodacom and been provides with a contact number for the ***** department but nobody answers the phone. I have received an email including a statement and invoice which informs me that I owe in excess of R2000. From the statement, it is clear that someone has a phone valued at R16 000 under my name. The number the contract is registered under just says 'tge subscriber you have dialled could not be reached'. I am not a Vodacom customer and have not been for over 5 years. I am fed up and will never consider a Vodacom contract ever again. What a terrible, useless, and ********* company! Truly the epitomy of everything bad about South Africa! Stay away from them.
