Vodacom: The Ultimate Tester of One's Patience
Well done Vodacom! You have developed patience in me equivocal to Job.
If you have a question in mind “Is Vodacom good?” Read below and find out.
After two years of calling and visiting the Vodacom store near us, trying to get a signal improvement, my patience has run out. We are bound to Vodacom in a contract that doesn’t provide the service that we pay for.
There is little reception on our property yet MTN has strong connectivity here. I have been passed from consultant to consultant across different departments (technical, customer “lack of care”, cancellation and accounts) and no one helps. Everyone just refers me to another department.
After depending on Vodacom to make a change for two years I have to make a change. The number is the one that I use to conduct my business activities and now I look foolish because of Vodacom’s poor service delivery and lack of customer care.
A technician finally visited the property on 1 September 2022, he did many tests on the property. His comment to me was “How have you conducted business like this for so long?” Maybe this honest technician should run Vodacom.
I have been trying to cancel but Vodacom wants to charge for the remainder of the contract. I have told Vodacom “Why must I pay for the remainder of a contract that you cannot provide the service for? Also, that Vodacom has not provided the service in the past two years.” The ironic thing is that the Consumer Protection Act No. 68 of 2008 allows you to be released from a contract should be be no service delivery. Vodacom, you are in contravention of Sections G, H and I.
They sent out a technical again to check our signal. He then said there is absolutely no improvement. He reiterated: "How can you run a business like this?" This was on the 19th October 2022. We have heard nothing yet. Whatever you do, avoid Vodacom like a plague so that you won't go through issues like this.
