Vodacom - The most useless provider in South Africa
I got my 100Gb Data Contract 6 years ago at a price of R299 per month. Without my knowledge, my Data Contract was changed to a 30Gb Contract at R319 per month. When I started enquiring the change of my contract, I couldn't a single answer from Customer Care, or from the employees at a Vodacom Shop. After 9 visits to a Vodacom Shop and more than 15 phone calls, customer care eventually notified me that "someone" at Vodacom, "accidently" deleted my Data Contract number, but once they realized that they have made a mistake, the re-implemented my contracted on a NEW 2 year contract, but on the wrong package!!! So i went from a month-to-month contract, straight into a NEW 2 year contract that is completely wrong, without my consent or knowledge. They confirmed that I have NOT signed any contract. That was just the beginning of a major disaster. I stopped receiving ANY data during the month of April 2023. After multiple phone calls and NO REFERENCE NUMBER (as it will always be SMSed to me), my account was handed over to the attorneys for collection. After explaining my story to the attorneys and mentioning that I cannot pay for a contract which is incorrect and where I don't get any data, they (the Attorney's), encouraged me to contact the cancellations department. I have sent them 3 emails and never received any feedback. I have phoned them, and yet they cannot assist me. The attorney's contacted me again today asking that I pay the arears amount in order to settle my account. Once again I explained that I will not pay for something that i did not get. The closing message from the Attorneys were that they will inform their customer that I am not able to pay the arears amount. I quickly informed them that there is a big difference between not able to and won't. So Vodacom. Please answer the following questions. Who gave you the right to change my contract without my consent? Who signed on my behalf to implement a NEW 2 year contract? Why should I pay for data that I don't and didn't get? You say you can see that the data has been allocated, but you can't prove that the data has been used. Why don't I get a reference number when a log a dispute??? What is the use you record my conversations, but I am not allowed to ask that the conversations be used to investigate all the disputes that I have logged?
