Vodacom; the gift of bad service that keeps on giving

Hi,

I called your cancellations department on the 3rd of April 2017, at 09:36 to ask for my 2GB MBB 24 month - TopUp contract to be cancelled. I was given no reference number but I was told the cancellation would be processed. Nothing happened.

On the 2nd of May, I was debited R109 and my data credited with 2GB of data. I called your Cancellations department again on the 3rd of May at 12:43 querying why my contract wasn't cancelled and I was told Vodacom had received no such request from me. I asked as clearly as I could articulate that I would like for my contract to be cancelled, the agent said she would put the request through. I also requested for the R109 to be paid back as I had not made use of the data loaded on the 1st of May. I was given a reference number for that request.

On the 15th of May, I called the cancellations department again to query the status of my request. I was told my request for cancellation was submitted and would be effective at the end of the month. Again, I or the R109 to be paid back as I had not made use of the data loaded on the 1st of May. I was given a reference number for that request.

Today, I noticed that on my invoice I had R109 due at the end of the month. I called your cancellations department again to query this. I was told my request for a refund was denied because there was record of me asking for a cancellation prior to 3 May and that I would be debited again at the end of this month even though I had not made use of the data loaded at the begining of the month.

I still dispute that claim and refuse to pay the invoice for this month because I have not made use of that data. In addition, I called you on the 3rd of April to request a cancellation, I as a customer should not be penalized for your agents not doing their jobs. This investigation should encompass the call I made on the 3rd of April at 09:36 so please go pull the recording from your records so you have the full story before denying me my rights as a consumer.

I have always thought highly of you as network but this experience has diminished any admiration I had Vodacom. I am disappointed in the handling of my requested and if given a choice for a new contract, I would not choose you. I will also not be renewing my cellphone contract with you at the end of October. I hope I don't have the same experience when I process that request.

I look forward to hearing from you.

Kind Regards,

Linda
