Vodacom technicians damaged phone brought in for repairs

My pensioner mother Setsolo Joyce Ntsoane bought a Huawei Tablet T3 worth R3399 (IMEI: ***) on 7 August 2020. At the end of March this year she realised that the charging port is broken and she sent it to Exact Protea Glen Mall as the phone is still under warranty and the store said they will take it to Huawei for repairs.

They kept the phone at the store for 3 weeks with no action. The store then decided to send the Tablet to Vodafone Jabulani Mall for repairs. My mom got a call informing her that the tablet is going to be picked up from Exact Protea Glen Mall on 18 April 2022 and was quoted +/-R1500 for the repairs. My mom agreed. On the 24th of April 2022 my mom's grandson went to Vodacom Jabulani Mall to check on progress of repairs only to find that the phone was still at Exact Protea Glen Mall. He had to go fetch it himself and manually take it to Vodacom Jabulani Mall. On the 15th of May he went to check the progress at Vodacom Jabulani Mall and paid the R1212.70 charged for the repairs and collected the tablet.

Only to find that the charging port has been repaired BUT the Tablet came back without the dialer app (she cant access contacts/make or receive phone calls). The phone was returned to Vodacom Jabulani Mall on the 20th of May by mom to report this. They tried fixing the dialer issue in the store and couldn't and advised her to leave the tablet behind. After a week they called and said the Tablet was ready for collection. My mom was only able to go on 2 June 2022 only to be told that they couldn't fix the dialer issue that they caused, so they decided to remove the replacement charging port and refund her the R1212.70.

Vodacom technicians ruined the tablet and removed themselves from the responsibility of fixing the dialer issue they caused. My mom's phone is now in a worse state than it was before it was brought in for repairs. They told her she must take it to Melrose Huawei to go get it fixed there by herself. After messing her phone up. This is totally unacceptable.
