Vodacom Tariff Increase Lies
Vodacom Increased their rates on the 1st of March 2025, and they sent out an email stating, "We've managed to keep an average monthly bill increase of just 4.5%". This is NOT the case, as they have increased by 10% or more. I have been calling Vodacom every 2 Days since the beginning of March to find out what the Increase amount was actually supposed to be, as Vodacom tried to debit my account for an amount over the usual amount including the 4.5% Increase. I am really happy that the payment bounced, as i have caught Vodacom cheating. Yet Vodacom sent out SMS's as well notifying of a Tarif increase from the 1st of May 2025 - Which is it Vodacom? 1st of March 2025? or 1st of May 2025?
Over the next 3 weeks of phone calls with Vodacom and being bounced from department to department (as its not related to this department, accounts, but rather customer care, or vice versa...), Vodacom has still not given me a correct answer as to what the exorbitant amounts are for?
All i get is we are escalating it. With all these Escalations, i believe my Request is now sitting in Heaven? Vodacom, Telkom, all the same, they take your money, and never get back to you.
Absolutely NO ONE at Vodacom can explain to me, why i was sent 3 different invoices, each one with a different amount!
If i am supposed to pay the amount that bounced, i would like to , however there are 3 different amounts, and no one can explain why this is???
The response i got from Vodacom was, "Pay the amount you normally pay and then we can assist you further" - In other words, if i don't pay, Vodacom cannot help me???
After calling through 3 Times for an answer, i asked to speak to a manager, they call you back. There was one such call where the manager of the Call Centre called me back and actually understood what i was disputing, She sent me a reference Number. Every time that i have called Vodacom since, i offered to give them the reference number, and instead they ask me for my ID Number, even though i authenticate myself through the "Automated" system (that too doesn't work...) - They are not interested in the Reference Number, instead they all wan to hear the problem from beginning to end, probably hoping for time to go faster, so they can be on their way home - you get the feeling that Vodacom as a whole is telling you, thank you for your money, now stuff you!
When a Manager from the Billing / Accounts / Customer Care Department does decide to call you back, they ask for your ID Number, again, and then they want to know what is the problem??? Do the other staff not communicate at all??? I then explain the problem to the Call Centre / Accounts / Billing department, and then they put me on hold. While i am on hold, the call disconnects (not that i have moved around, but rather sitting at my office desk), do they bother to call you back? ABSOLUTELY NOT!!
So begin the process again, at least 3 times a day - To Vodacom, this seems like nothing, to me, this is wasting my time, as i need to work to pay bills, yet instead, i am spending most of the day, on the phone to Vodacom!!
I have 11 Lines with Vodacom, i have been with Vodacom for the last 20 years, if not more, and this is the kind of Service they deliver?
Pathetic!!!
I used to think of Vodacom as the leading Cellular Provider in the country, unfortunately, that is no longer the case.
Pity.
Now to spread the word to as many of my friends, clients and colleagues to move away from Vodacom and join another Network, another Network that actually cares about its clients.
