VODACOM takes advantage of its existing clients

I've just gotten on the phone with Vodacom to cancel my cellphone contract as same has expired. I don't know why they make it so impossible to confirm cancellation of the contract or even why we need to give notice of cancellation when it has expired! I have just spent 23 minutes with an agent who tried to convince to to take a different deal as I have a "P700" profile which means I have never missed my debit order!!! I had to inform the agent more than five time that I am not interested and we argued until such time that I informed him that I actually debate for a living so I am absolutely not interested in arguing with him about what is best for me, I just want to cancel this contract. I even Informed him that I'm going to write about this experience on Hellopeter as I asked him for his name and surname, he refused to give me his surname though I know his first name. I asked for the recording reference and he also refused. I asked to speak to someone else who is actually going to assist me cancel this expired contract as I am NOT interested in being retained, nor taking up a "cheaper" deal. I even had to ask several times whether he will assist me with the cancellation or not.!!!!!!!!!

I received assistance from him ONLY after telling him I'm going to complain on this platform. What irritates me even more is the fact that VODACOM is going to debit my account for TWO more months even though my contract has expired!!! I thought your contract says 30 days Notice.

Vodacom needs to do better because I've been getting several phone calls from them regarding upgrading my contract and I've been telling them I'm not interested. Not once has anyone called me to assist with cancellation of the contract. Instead, I call in and spend so much time trying to cancel an expired contract with an agent who is only interested in making sure I continue with another contract I am not interested in upgrading. I am very disappointed as I have been on the Vodacom network for over 15 years.

Do better VODACOM.
