Vodacom Table Bay Mall – My Black Friday Adventure

Vodacom Table Bay Mall – My Black Friday Adventure Last Friday, I walked into Vodacom ready to renew my contract and grab those sweet Black Friday deals. Enter Ronaldo, the sales consultant. We picked the items, shook hands (figuratively), and then I did the responsible thing—read the contract. Surprise! The prices were inflated like a balloon at a kid’s party. I asked Ronaldo why, and he said, “That’s what the system printed.” Blank stare. No explanation. I thought, Are you trying to pull a fast one on me? He admitted he didn’t check. Cue my realization: how many customers just sign without looking? I refused to sign and Ronaldo promised to escalate to IT. Fast forward:

Saturday: Ronaldo calls—still being looked at. Monday: No call. Tuesday: I call—still waiting. Friday (a whole week later): Still not sorted.

So, Vodacom, how do you advertise Black Friday deals when your system is stuck in last month’s prices? Ronaldo gave me “used car salesman” vibes, and his manager? Zero accountability, just blaming the system. Honestly, your team should consider government jobs—they’ve mastered the art of not caring.

Dear Team, I’m honestly impressed—your Table Bay Store has perfected the art of disappearing managers. The store manager promised us a call on Saturday. Spoiler alert: nothing. We called yesterday, and the sales assistant assured us he’d call at 9 a.m. Guess what? Still nothing. At this point, I’m no longer blaming the ***** car salesman Ranaldo. He’s practically a saint compared to the Houdini-level performance of your manager (whose name I can’t recall—probably because he’s never around long enough to make an impression). If this is part of a new customer experience strategy called “Ghosting 101,” congratulations—you’re nailing it. Looking forward to hearing from someone who actually exists.

Surprise, surprise… I finally received a call from the manager at Vodacom Table Mall, and what an experience that was. Unfortunately, I have to say this interaction left me extremely disappointed. The manager, Jonathan, displayed a complete lack of people skills. There was no accountability, no concern for resolving the issue—just constant blame-shifting. All I asked for was to be kept updated, which he failed to do. To make matters worse, he claimed he had been trying to call me all of last week and this week. I can confidently say that is not true. This kind of dishonesty is unacceptable, especially coming from someone in a managerial position. His manner during the call was unprofessional and rude, which is not what I expect from Vodacom. I believe this needs to be addressed urgently to ensure better customer experiences going forward.

Vodacom, your persistent failures are unacceptable. "The Sagar Continues" is an understatement to the ongoing debacle, with absolutely no updates provided by your team [1].Furthermore, I attempted to purchase a phone bundle that was supposed to include pods, only for your system to fail the sale. This represents a colossal operational breakdown on your part [1].My decision to engage with Vodacom has proven to be a mistake. The agents I've dealt with have been terrible, the after-sales support is non-existent, and the entire company is a complete and total failure [1]. I should have taken my business elsewhere [1].Address this immediately.
