Vodacom supports fight against rhino poaching

<p>Three days ago, the Wild Lion Trust (South Africa) and Wild Tomorrow Fund (New York) jointly put a plea out to Vodacom South Africa (part of Vodafone) on behalf of Ezemvelo KZN Wildlife. Ndumo Game Reserve is a rhino reserve and 1 of only 3 SA reserves on the Mozambique border. Communications are vital in battling the rhino poaching syndicate scourge. The three main houses in Ndumo are in a shadow of a hill, and didn’t receive signal for mobile or data.</p> <p>Incredibly, before we had even thought to hear a reply to our email, Vodacom had sent a team of Electrowave technicians out and fitted all 3 of the key spots with top class booster aerials. They were not finished there, and then improved the connection and signal of an old already installed booster aerial in the main office block. Now 3 days later, signal issue have been sorted out on the reserve by an extremely professional and efficient team.</p> <p>Now managers, section rangers, and staff can communicate with each other and share information and co-ordinate strategies as needed.</p> <p>Well done Vodacom.
