Vodacom sucks

Vodacom is a bunch of rip-off artists; they phoned my wife (who has been a Vodacom customer for many years) early last week with the offer of a new contract. The terms being suitable she agreed to this, and they said that the new contract came with a new phone which would be delivered by their courier. Sure enough, Ram arrived on Thursday with the phone and a touching belief that snail mail still works in South Africa. As my wife only had a utility bill that was "too old" Ram refused to hand over the phone, saying that a new delivery would be scheduled. It was, however, my wife was not at home at the time. Vodacom then sent her a message which offered a choice of three options, the first one being "Press 1 to reschedule the delivery". My wife did this and that was the end of the matter until yesterday when my wife received a phone call from Vodacom telling her that as the phone was not delivered the order was now cancelled. Surely this is not only bad mannered but non-contractual as well? I would advise anyone to be very wary of doing business with this company.
