Vodacom Sucks
In 2020 I cancelled my Cellphone contract and Cellphone insurance and paid my account in full after which I owed Vodacom nothing. Then, in October of last year I suddenly received an invoice for the amount I used to pay for my original contract plus what I used to pay for my cellphone insurance. Vodacom reactivated my old contract and my device insurance without my knowledge, concent or instruction almost 2 years after I cancelled it. Since then I've been calling them on a regular basis to try and resolve the situation but every time I call I'm shunted from one department to the other, each department saying they can't do anything about it and referring me to another department. I have spoken to different people from the various departments including Accounts, Customer care, Collections, Cancellations, Insurance etc., calling each department multiple times from October last year up to today without resolution. All the while the account keeps on going up and now stands at over three thousand Rands which I don't owe them. And now they have handed me over to their collections department. Who from Vodacom can resolve this and instruct or give an executive order to all the relevant departments to correct their records? Everybody passes the buck and nobody apparently has the power to resolve the situation. This is extremely bad service, first to charge your customer, a customer of over 20 years for something I did not request and did not agree to and then not to have the backbone to correct your mistake, all the while just sitting back and saying "pay us or else!" Cut the red tape and fix this problem!
