Vodacom stock issues

Three weeks ago we went and app**** for a new contract at Vodacom Chatz in Wilrogate Centre, Roodepoort. We successfully app**** for a contract for a Samsung A32 and also for an Xbox Series. We were advised that the shop did not have stock, but that they would place the order the next Monday, and that we should have the devices within the week.

Three weeks later, we are still being told that it is on back order. Despite the fact that other Vodacom shops in the area have stock of the phone, we cannot go and pick the stock up there because they do not have the Xbox. I get promised every time on my daily follow up, we will follow up and call you back. I am still to receive a single call.

The phone was purchased for my grandmother, who has been sitting without a cellphone now for 3 weeks. How are we supposed to explain this to her now? Vodacom doesn't care? My husband has been a loyal customer for more than 21 years, but apparently Vodacom would rather eat his money every month, then have any care for Customer Service.

I want someone to call me and tell me when this week we will be getting our stock, I will keep complaining until someone can sort this out.

Hi Vodacom

Please could Lance's manager give me a call. I advised him I am not satisfied with his feedback, as I feel that Vodacom has misrepresented information to us by not disclosing before the contract was finalised what a potential delay in stock could be so that we could make an informed decision. According to him, this is all part of the T's and C's, and I should just be happy with that response. He declined escalating the matter further, apparently his feedback is sufficient, and therefore I have no need to speak to someone else. I reminded him that I am the customer, and that the matter cannot be closed, until I am satisfied with the response. His 17 years of manning the customer service desk gives him authority to decide that I have no right to request for escalation. I would like to remind Vodacom, that in the end, the end customer is all that keeps them in business, and arrogance has no place in customer care.

I myself managed a customer service team. I know how it works, and I am sorry, but Lance shouldn't go anywhere near customers, whether front facing or telephonically. I am willing to escalate to CEO level, if need be.
