Vodacom: still the worst

Two years ago I attempted to go onto a contract with Vodacom and the application was successful, but the contract was not at all what I asked for. I wanted to keep my old number, but the package I recieved had two SIM cards, one with a new number and one with data. Absolutely useless exercise. I contacted Vodacom and was informed that I would need to cancel this contract, do a new application and then go through the entire process again, sending the device back, only to receive it again with my existing number after another week of waiting. I didn't have a functional phone so I just asked them to cancel everything and wipe the contract from my name. I sent the device and all Sims back. A year later I discovered that Vodacom had still not cancelled the contract and were trying to bill me. I contacted them and had the issue resolved (I thought), thinking they completely cancelled everything, and I requested written proof that all was in order. Today my phone has just stopped working for no reason. I bought one in cash after the last fiasco with Vodacom and it lasted a whole two years. So I thought I'd give them another chance and go onto a contract. Nope - I've discovered that Vodacom has locked my profile under some gibberish that no one can seem to explain to me, and for some reason it's going to take 72 hours for me to unlock and attempt another application for contract. As a small business owner, working 3 jobs, this may actually potentially ruin me, because my life is entirely driven on my phone. Vodacom remains completely unmoved by my pleas. If your phone stops working, it should be the easiest process in the world to get a new one same day - now I'll be lucky if I get one by next week and I have no means to conduct business or make an income.
