Vodacom still ripping me off more than 7 years since i cancelled contract
I hope to get a resolution of this issue soon. A few years back I entered into a R149 per month package with Vodacom, but cancelled a few months later as we were no longer in need of this data contract. Vodacom continued billing me (I did not realise this as it is such a small amount). Then alas, when I saw this I cancelled the debit order. Then I got a call from Vodacom about an arrear amount. I let the person know that I had cancelled the contract and the person insisted that I did not and that I must submit proof of that. This is now some five/six years since I cancelled the contract, so of course, I had no such proof. I was threatened with legal action if I did not pay the outstanding amount.
I then paid this because I cannot afford to have a blacklisting in my name. Now to my disgust and surprise, I am being hounded by attorneys with legal action if I do not pay another R888 because they say when I cancelled I failed to pay the following month's amount. This was less than a year ago, and Vodacom failed to let me know that I still had to pay another month, even though this account was cancelled YEARS before. This R149 is now R888 only a few months later, and again I am being threatened by your lawyers because of an amount Vodacom did not inform me about before handing me over.
I have tried getting hold of Vodacom and today I was told that the ticket number has been closed, BUT NO ONE HAS SPOKEN TO ME!
And their lawyers at Hammond pole Attorneys are the worst at interacting with people.
