Vodacom still charges me after I cancelled Lost/****** device

I reported my Vodacom 3G device and Sim as Lost/****** about a month ago (mid August) at the Vodacom Store in Paarl Mall, and I also Cancelled the entire contract as it had expired a while ago and I no longer want or require this service - and made it clear to the consultant that the device, sim and service should be stopped with immediate effect. To my surprise I received a bill of over R600 on 1 Sept - and the money was debited from my account! How is this possible if I stopped, cancelled and reported my Device as Lost/****** more than 14 days prior to Debit order date at month-end? When I phoned the Vodacom Call Centre on 1 Sept to query this matter they claimed that the Vodacom Paarl store has failed to log the device as Lost, nor have they cancelled the account - as I requested in store. How is this possible, and why do I have to pay for the data use on a device which Vodacom's own consultants failed to register as missing? Poor service and ****************!
