Vodacom steels data at an alarming rate.
Well it is probably not only Vodacom, but all the cellphone service providers in South Africa. Vodacom steels data and at a rate that will make state capture look like nothing. The same amount of date for doing the same amount of things drastically differs from the one day to the next. One day I can buy a 1Gig data that expire at midnight and it hold me the whole day and I can receive e-mails and stream non stop. The next day the same 1 Gig can not even hold 4 e-mails and is gone within less than an hour. And yes I've meticulously looked at the size of the e-mails and the amount streamed, Vodacom's data usage drastically differs from the one day to the next for exactly the same contents, so Vodacome don't come with your "It must have been bigger e-mails or higher quality streaming. Clicking on their ridiculous misleading "where did my data go" on their useless app only give you a list of things you never did like some yahoo account that you do not even have or data usage that does not correlate with the fact that your data has ran out. As I'm sitting here writing this while my phone is just lying there doing nothing, my data has run down from 750 MB to 0MB with three "You have less than x amount of data" forced messages telling me how they are robing me! How can this be legal! Again don't come with "your phone settings is so that your phone download and update in the back ground and that it is my fold" nonsense. I know my phone is not set to that and no backup or update happens without me letting it. So Vodacom has just robed me of over 700MB in 3 min as my phone is literally not doing anything at the moment. Further is their coverage in the Northern Cape so unreliable you can half of the time not even access proper internet. At times it goes of for half of the day and when it comes back on your data is suddenly gone. The worst thing of all is I will never get this data back and the process is even more painfull to try and get it back. The so called parliamentary committee and the committee for fair business practices that was supposed to look at data fees must fall has done literally nothing and only the method of *****ing data changed. It is **************** and the small guy can't do anything about it. All I can do here is to rant and say Vodacom stop *****ing my data that I've paid for and with that, more expensive than any other data in the world.
