Vodacom *****ing Money and High Penalty Fees

I have a very serious problem with Vodacom. When I was offered a contract by Vodacom whereby I pay them R199 per month, the consultant failed to disclose to me that Vodacom charges a R100.88 penalty fee for a bounced debit order nor does it mention that in my contract. The reason Vodacom does not disclose this fee when one takes out a contract with them is because they know no one will agree to such an amount to be charged as a penalty fee. I have raised my concerns with different consultants at Vodacom, but with no solution.

My debit order bounced last month (01 February 2021), but went into the walk-in centre days later to pay the amount in person and WAS NOT TOLD about the penalty fee I will be owing for this month (01 March 2021). On 01 March 2021 my bill which is R199 per month for the contract that I have with them was ready to be debited from my account, but because the ANONYMOUS R100.88 penalty fee was added from last month my debit order bounced yet again meaning I will owe them another additional R100.88 AGAIN next month (01 April 2021) which I only heard of 09 March (yesterday) when I was in the walk-in centre.

On 09 March 2021 was held hostage to pay the R100.88 additional or face disconnection, so I paid the R299.88 while ALSO being debited R110 from my bank account on 01 March 2021. So not only do they demand the R100.88 that had to be paid on my R199 agreed contract, but R110 was also deducted from my bank account labelled "#Item Unpaid No Funds".

In conclusion there was no transparency about the R100.88 penalty fee and also the R110 that was debited from my account with no explanation as well. So I'll be paying 100.88 x 2 = R201.76 (for the 2 bounced debit orders) for hidden penalty fees and R110 that was ****** (taking without reason or asking is *****ing) which totals R311.76 which is hidden penalty fees.

Regards

Brent

Reviewer Update
Good morning

Just an update.

Vodacom has assisted my situation and rectified the situation. Although what happened was unexpected, I'd give them a better rating considering the swiftness of their actions.

Best regards

Brent
