Vodacom *****ing money

I transferred my account from my friends name to my own as it has been in his name for the past few years but I paid it. Then we did a transfer of ownership in December. In the beginning of December Vodacom deducted the full fee and then wanted to charge a prorate to me for the rest of the month as they said it’s a new contract and not a transfer. After discussion with a manager that called me they agreed to remove this. it was mentioned to me that my instalment will go off in the end of January and that the January debit will still go off from (previous account holder) account. They deducted the money from his account on the 3rd January 2017. On the 7th January 2017 an attempt was made to deduct R2900 from my own account as well. This was declined as I didn’t plan for it and I had to pay R115 penalty from my bank for the failed debit order. I went to the Vodacom branch in Rosebank to query the issue and after almost 2 hours in the branch they said that they made a mistake and the account is up to date.

It was said that the amount of R2900 will be deducted of my account at the end of January and that the account is up to date. On the 7th February Vodacom again tried deducting R5994.78 from my account. I requested the bank to deny the transaction as this is not the agreed amount. I went into Vodacom again at Rosebank and they called accounts department which now says that I owe them last month account cause the debit order failed. They want me now to send them the proof of payment from my friends account although it was agreed that all is in line. It shows on the system that the amount has been deducted from his account but they keep asking me for the proof of payment and mention that it’s the account department and not them. I have send them the proof of his statement that I have attached to this mail as well.

My concern is that my phone is going to be disconnected and it will reflect on my credit due to incompetence from Vodacom and the accounts department. If it was said that this will be the issue with transferring the account I would’ve left it until July 2017 when it expires. I do not know how to resolve this anymore and it is having a huge effect on my credit score which is a huge concern as I am planning on buying a house. Please can you let me know who I can talk to as the branches as well as the call centres are unable to help me and the responsible section cannot be contacted.
