Vodacom *****ing from its customers
I have been trying to cancel 4 of my Vodacom contracts since early January 2020. Not because of bad experience, merely for cost optimization of my own finances. I have been a Vodacom customer since the early nineties with absolutely no complaints. However now I am totally disappointed and disgruntled at this giant corporation for *****ing another month's worth of contract costs from me their loyal customer.
After three calls early January where the agents told me I am on "the old system" and someone will call me back, which never happens, I got through to a service agent whom used her own initiative to ask a supervisor for access to "the old system" and she cancelled the four contracts. All good? So I thought. The contracts should have been cancelled end Jan 2020. Today 1 February I am expecting my contracts to be cancelled, but no. So I phone again and again "you are on the old system sir". So after insisting that I speak to a supervisor to check why the four contracts have not been cancelled, the agent assists me with the help of a supervisor (Whom by the way does not speak to me him or herself). Now I receive a sms telling me the contact will move to vodago 29/02/202. So because of Vodacom bad service and Vodacom system issues, this corporate giant is *****ing, yes taking its clients money for another month without my consent. I am an educated person and can see a case to take this to court, however because of lawyer fees and the time it will consume this will not happen because I know this corporate have a team of lawyers to keep me busy for years. What chance does the normal Joe have. Why is it so difficult to cancel, is it designed this way? With all the technology made available to buy, measure and bill for data and airtime usage why can cancelling not be an easy process on your mobile app. I feel this is something the competition commission should be looking into, that will be my next letter.
