Vodacom Staff Incompetence

My Vodacom contract was nearing the end of cancellation.

The contract was a top-up contract where one only receives airtime.

30 days before actual cancellation, I phoned in to cancel the contract as per Vodacom Policy. All was confirmed and I received a reference number.

I also enquired what will happen with my Airtime of over R500. The lady politely said that the airtime will remain if I decide to keep the SIM active on prepaid. I agreed that we must do this and keep the SIM active so that the airtime reminds on the SIM.

I thought, 'wow!' That's good. In dissbelief, I decided to phone in again, just to confirm that this is true. Then next person said, NO, you will lose everything. I then thought, let me phone again, 1 day before my contract expire. I phoned, and the lady said that I will lose everything.

I then decided to buy data and use it (although I had no need for data).

So, my contract expired and I was on prepaid......

GUESS WHAT! I STILL HAVE MY R1.89 left that I had after I purchased data bundles.

So, I could have used the money on the phone after the migration to pre-paid. I wasted R500.

Thank you for informing the customer incorrectly. I think is is a marketing strategy, so that the clients think they lose all their airtime!!!!!
