Vodacom South Africa's Best-Worst Network
Since Monday the 17th of February 2020 we have had a Vodacom network outage in the industrial suburb of Techno Park in Witbank. Meaning that we have no internet access and we struggle to make and receive calls. As a business in the tech-age this is detrimental to the operation of our business in a struggling economy where everything is done via email or over the internet. We've reported the issue many times to Vodacom Business call centre and we receive a rather poor excuse that this is down to load-shedding and there is no turn-around time. This is unacceptable as Vodacom Business clients we pay a premium for services that should be working during all times. Being a business we understand the impact that load shedding has on the network but surely there are contingencies in place to aid paying customers. To make matters worst we were forced to buy MTN and Telkom prepaid sims and an additional router in order to have access to the internet and both networks have performed reliably with no issues for the last 10 days I would go so far as to say that MTN's and Telkom's networks have performed better than Vodacom's network in comparison to the performance before this recent run of load shedding. To make matters worst there is a Vodacom tower or sub-station perfectly visible from my office window within Techno Park. Lastly we have received no communication from Vodacom regarding the status of the network and we are Vodacom Business clients. Ironically MTN and Telkom have provided me with daily updates via SMS regarding their network issue as prepaid customers. Looks like Vodacom is South Africa's best WORST network, well done on providing no service to a loyal contract client of 20 years!
