Vodacom sold my number
If you hear that Vodacom cares about you, it's a lie. I have had the same phone number with Vodacom for about 15 years. Recently I got stuck at a job in Mozambique for 4 months. When I returned to South Africa, Vodacom had sold my number to someone else. When I queried this, I was told that Vodacom is a business. Therefore customers come second to money.
I asked Vodacom to turn on my international roaming, but there is no way to check if it's been done until you've left the country. Guess what - Sorry for you, we sold your number to someone else for 99 cents. I guess that the 99 cents is more important than my continued support.
As with most companies in South Africa now, they will say sorry and expect that just fixes everything, until you owe them something and sorry is no longer acceptable.
I've tried calling my old number, and it's not even being used, but no metter what, you can't get it back.
Come Vodacom. Just because out country is going backwards doesn't mean that you need to follow. There was a time that I rated you the best. What happened?
I was out of the country for 132 days and you had already allocated my number to someone else. I have tried calling them on several occasions, but it seems that the number isn't being used as I can't get through to them.
