Vodacom - so what happened? From good to not great to ****** awful.

Dear Vodacom

I have been a loyal Vodacom customer for over 20 years but am finding myself more and more frustrated by the lack of signal in my area. I live in Grahamstown/Makhanda in the Eastern Cape. For many years the signal strength was better than any other service provider, but in the last three to four years it has got progressively worse.

I have spoken to the Vodacom agents in Grahamstown and they tell me they have report the numerous complaints they receive from Vodacom customers about the signal to yourselves. There is no difference in the signal. This is particularly frustrating in current circumstances where working from home is a requirement for my job and when there are power failures the only way to connect to the internet is via my mobile phone using it as a hotspot. This does NOT work when there is little or no signal.

I would like to remain a loyal Vodacom customer, but am starting to seriously consider a number switch to a different service provider so I can make and receive business calls, work with my mobile from anywhere in Grahamstown and not have the stress and frustration of dropped calls, no internet and missed calls from clients.

Any information that you are willing to share about possibly infrastructure upgrades would be useful - not only for me, but for all your other clients in this area, who may also be considering switching providers.

Kind regards Margaret
