Vodacom simply does not care - worst service I have ever seen

I've been a client for around 15 years and I spend on Avg over R 3000 per month on my phone bill.

I have a super xl package which gives me unlimited access to data and calls including at least in past international calls. My phone is critical to me as I use it for business.

8 days ago all of this suddenly stopped. I can now not access data and not make any calls. I can receive calls and send sms's. I've tried to buy data online but get a message back saying that the purchase failed.... not that I should in the first place have to do that as the contract is meant to be uncapped.

Note also: I have never failed to make a payment.

My account is fully paid up and I have 2 gig of data left.

I have over the last 8 days called 1 to 2 times a day to explain how important it is that this be resolved. The answer every time is that they tested my SIM and phone online and that there is no issue so the problem must be in their system ... I am then told that the issue is being escalated and that it will be resolved in 48 hrs and don't that someone will contact me.

I should in the first place not have to wait 48 hours!! But to make it worse:

1. No one calls back

2. I call back and get told the same thing

3. The issue still exists 8 days later

I attached a screen capture of the last few sms's of reference numbers for my calls... it goes back much further. Interestingly it seems that cases are repeatedly registered and then marked as resolved - I guess this is done to avoid negative reporting against the 48 hr SLA?

More interesting: I can actually buy data against my account for my friends and the connect via hotspot to their phones... ie I can buy data for them against my vodacom account but not for myself!!? Not that I should have to buy data on this plan in the 1st place! I've spent R 500 on this ... but the cost of not having a phone is worth much more.

And finally on top of this:

1. I have to wait for 30 mins to speak to a consultant every time I call (and this is not something that I can solve via self help)

2. My voice password is supposedly active but I still have to give all my verification details every time I call

This is pathetic. I don't know what else I should do. Going to switch to MTM.
