Vodacom SIM Swap RIP-OFF

Have had a contract with vodacom, and cancelled due not needing the contract anymore, have asked for the number to be put onto prepaid, they have put it on prepaid, so now i figure out that i need a nano sim, so i need to do a sim swap to get a nano sim.

purchased a sim card from a retailer, done rica, now phone the call centre for a sim swap, the lady says she cannot assist as this is a contract number, and nsays that i must go to the vodacom store and ask them to do it, and also note the sim card from vodacom is about R100-R150.

normal retail shop is R0.49

so please provide an explanation???

i have asked the lady "so do i need to move to another network to bypass the vodacom store?"

she said "im going to say yes"
