Vodacom should apply for a Casino Licence
Vodacom has again proven that they don't see us a clients but as opportunity for profiteering. I recently needed to travel to Panama, via Turkey. I bought the Vodacom Travel Data product to ensure no data-shock accounts. I monitored it fastidiously throughout my travels, topping it up a total of four times, including while in transit on my way home at Istanbul Airport. My flight left Istanbul at 2am for SA, and all was still good whenever I checked (and screenshot) by data situation. Upon landing in Johannesburg, suddenly I see an sms telling me my current data spend is R3125-29! What the hell! I was buying packages which were just under R100 each to avoid exactly this, and had managed them perfectly, four in total, right onto my homeward bound flight. How can I suddenly be ********** like this. Naturally enough, I have attempted a number of times to escalate the matter, but to no avail and they insist their fine-print has somehow left me in the wrong. Doing business with them for decades and they still are more like a casino, trying to trick me into being a loser, than valuing a long-term business relationship
