Vodacom "Service" provider, yeah right....pffft...

So yesterday I got a call from the Vodacom 4U store in Eastgate. I don’t know about anyone else but I get pretty excited when I know I am gonna get a new piece of tech! And yes! It was the salesperson at the Vodacom 4U Eastgate branch. She called and “Sir your brand new Samsung S10 + has arrived”. I then told her I would collect it that afternoon or on the Friday afternoon. I then proceeded to move things around so I collect it yesterday. So for a little more background, I live in the Douglasdale area but decided to go to Eastgate a week ago to “pre Order” My Samsung S10+, as the service I got from the Vodacom 4 U store the last time was amazing. I could have gone to the one 2 blocks from where I work to get it but the service I got from “That” Vodacom store was atrocious… (Note that I did not complain about this the last time) So when I “pre ordered” my phone, the salesperson told me there were other packages and I said great! I told her what package I was on and asked if we could maybe get a better deal and she said I’m sure you will, after all there is a package for R999 with S10+. I was so much happier after that conversation. So I walk into the Vodacom 4 U store yesterday after sitting for an hour in traffic just to get to that side of the world for the “Great Service”… Needless to say I was disappointed to hear the salesperson I dealt with was not there. So they went into the back to get my phone and came back and handed me a telephone, on the line was the salesperson who I dealt with apologizing for having left early as she had the flu. This then was followed by a “I am sorry they gave your phone to someone else… As a “Red package” customer we are informed that you will be given preferential treatment when you sign the contract with Vodacom… Not very preferential if you ask me. After all, “they” called “me” to come collect my phone…. I asked for a manager, “No he left early” was the response. My response was a little colourful after that. I will NOT be treated like this! I will admit I used some choice words. The salesperson tried to assist me by taking me to the larger Vodashop in the mall. There I was told they could not help me. I was then handed a phone with the manager “Johan” of the Vodacom 4u shop on the other end. Someone filled in a “I” something or other form and because of that, they gave my phone to someone else… I said “that is unacceptable” he then said “It happens a lot” that made me lose it… I told him I left work early, drove in peak traffic to collect it and nobody even tried to contact me…. I said fine, get me another phone and deliver it to where I work. “I can’t do that” he says. But it’s ok for you to do it to me??? More choice words from me as I am now fuming!!! The salesperson then takes me to the Chats Vodacom store. These guys tried their best to help me. They had a phone for me!!! Great my troubles are over, or so I thought…after half an hour of calls and signing into systems and out of systems we get to the contract options….. My current contract now will be R400 more!!!! For what I currently have… after the Vodacom 4U salesperson said we would get a better deal… needless to say I was highly upset now… but I left the store disappointed… “No, your phone was given to someone else (that was promised by Vodacom),It happens a lot” says the manager (does Samsung even know this happens? That phones, “earmarked” for a specific client get given to someone else? I and many other clients would probably get a different brand purely because of how Vodacom dropped the ball, and Samsung loses out due to Vodacom’s poor service) Samsung must maybe rethink their relationship with Vodacom. We as South Africans are known for not complaining. Well I am complaining. I have had enough of the poor service from Vodacom. The fact that ends users of “prime products” both from Vodacom and Samsung are treated like this. I know I might be the that “small bug” that hits your windscreen just after you have washed your car. It doesn’t really bother you but just remember that that is the bug that blocks your view when the wipers are on and bugs have friends and family! Eventually someone will see and take not of all the bugs that will get in your way. Today I am that BUG. To add insult to injury, I received 2 sms from Vodacom about tarrif increases just after this experience

So your store manager Johan called on Tuesday and apologised. He also said he would make a plan to see what he could do to assist me. This was on Tuesday the 5th and still nothing. so i guess Vodacom doesn't care... I am out of the country for the next week so I guess that gives you more time to do nothing. So the promise of free budds and a watch if you pre-order is now gone and so it appears is the service from Vodacom. Thanks for the apology it means about as much to me as I mean to you as a customer... nothing
